100mm earthenware/lead sewer branch pipe joint connecting to the toilet pan had been damaged during recent drain cleaning causing the lead pipe to close in on itself and block the drain.

Using diamond tip grinding tools the earthenware/lead joint was grinded reinstating the pipe to its original diameter.

The branch drain was relined from the toilet pan collar approximately 2m downstream.

The outcome was a new section of drain installed below the bathroom and corridor floor without costly excavation and inconvenience.
